Folks,

I had two separate flights using the Wifi and Skyview - simply it is AWESOME!!

I really like the flight plan capabilities offered in Foreflight, being able to transfer it to the Skyview flight plan is a tremendous capability.

I also have the old Stratus for in flight weather - you can only be connected to one at a time.  Yes, I know you can switch wifi networks - not very efficient.

I know this has been articulated in other threads - really hope that Dynon ADSB will pass weather to Foreflight.  If it did - I would purchase it today!!

I did contact Foreflight as well.  Tim :)

I have same setup except I have a Stratus 2 and I would also switch to the Dynon ADs-B In box if Skyview would send weather to Foreflight.

I have contacted Dynon and Foreflight and requested the feature be added.
If you want this feature, I suggest you make your desires known to them.
Dynon is very receptive to customer suggestions, Foreflight less so.
Engineers have indicated to me the technology is very doable.
Remember, Foreflight is partnered with Stratus. That is direct competition with Dynon, concerning the feature of feeding traffic and weather from SkyView.
It would really be a sweet feature though.

Yes, I have already done it. One thing that gives me hope is that Foreflight is supposed to be able now to exchange weather and traffic with the Garmin G3X system. If they did it with Garmin, they should be open to doing it with Skyview. I think the Freeflight system is also going to work with Foreflight.

I can seen traffic on my Stratus 2 dual-band ADSB that doesn't show on Skyview Single-band, so I'm definitely sticking with having fore flight + Stratus2 and it has animated radar frames and multiple system redundancy...

Dynon,

I am a BIG supporter of Dynon - LOVE the products!!  The connectivity via Wifi is simply awesome!!

I just noticed the new upgrade for Foreflight now has an expanded capability to accomplish the same thing with the GNS 430...BUT, the Ipad/Foreflight will receive ADSB Weather, and traffic.  This is a potential game changer!!

Dynon - can you give us some insight IF this is something WAY high on your list?

Really want to stay with your products.  Thanks  Tim

Dynon, any update on this? I have this capability in my Bonanza via a Flight Stream and would love to have it in my RV with SkyView.

I called IFLY GPS, my preferred app, and talked with the VP. He said he would be happy to work with Dynon to accept Wifi GDL 90 (the ADS-B standard). IFLY is compatible with just about every receiver but Garmin, which is proprietary. They so open to partnering that they even have a selection for Stratux, a home made receiver. I made one for $72.00 with parts from Amazon and it works great in my RV because my Dynon ADS-B out allows the Stratus ADS-B IN box to see the entire traffic picture. So I join in requesting Dynon to make GDL 90 data available on WIFI so we don’t have to add second receivers for our portables.

I am hoping to see the same connectivity from the Skyview wifi to the SA FlyQ product. Since SA is already a preferred supplier, why not expand compatibility?

We have heard your requests, but at this moment, we have nothing to announce.

Look closely at the photo -- version 2.3 of FlyQ EFB.  Will be in beta testing early next week.  Email beta@seattleavionics.com to get the beta of FlyQ EFB with SkyView integration.

Flew today with our friends from Dynon to test the SkyView / FlyQ EFB integration. Worked perfectly and the day was incredible for flying over the San Juan islands.

Just released version 2.3 with SkyView integration to Apple for external beta testing. If you're already a FlyQ EFB beta tester, you should see the new beta by Monday (Apple has to approve the beta). If you're not already a beta tester, please email beta@seattleavionics.com and we'll add you to the list.

Perhaps I'm not looking closely enough...but does the beta version of FlyQ pull ADS-B wx/traffic from SkyView? Also, is that air data displayed PFD, or strictly AHRS/GPS info?

Thanks for pushing the envelope!

The current SkyView data feed does not send ADS-B info. If it did, we'd support it as we support 20+ ADS-B systems and it's obviously a very good idea, esp. since an iPad cannot hook to two WiFi systems so connecting to SkyView prohibits a connection to a WiFi based ADS-B system.

SkyView sends GPS and AHRS data. it also sends lots of other data but nothing else relevant to FlyQ EFB. SkyView also can "push" a flight plan to FlyQ EFB and FlyQ EFB can push a flight plan to SkyView.

Thanks, Steve

Steve, any plans to show indicated airspeed and baro-corrected pressure altitude from Skyview instead of GPS groundspeed and GPS altitude? This would set you apart from your competitors in a positive way.

I'm not sure which alt we'd show. In FlyQ EFB 2.3, one small change we made at the last minute was to show Pressure Alt rather than GPS Alt if the data from the source indicates that it's pressure. This is a bit in an ADS-B feed so I don't know if it applies to SkyView. I know that they send boatloads of info, most of which we ignore. My guess is that we'd show GPS Alt right now (when I flew with SkyView, the Pressure Alt gauge change was not yet in and I know we displayed GPS alt at that time).

In the future, we'll add two separate Alt gauges -- GPS Alt and Pressure Alt so a pilot can choose which (or both) they want but there wasn't time for that much fiddling in this release.

IAS would be something else to add but not there yet. We get that from at least one ADS-B system (iLevel AW) so it's been on our list for some time.

Thanks, Steve

Just to keep the thread alive................my passengers in a single screen SkyView aircraft would love to have ADS-B weather and especially traffic on their Wifi connected iPads using ForeFlight.  Fellow pilots when riding as passengers are frustrated if a SkyView "Traffic" announcement is issued and they do not know where to look.
