Will my features be available in  14 months?

I am new to the forum. I intend to purchase a "Terrafugia Transition®" when they are available. I have read through all the posts and replys on the NextGeneration forum and cannot find the answers to my questions.

The POC shown at AirVenture shows that they intend to use Dynon boxes for EMS and EFIS. I really like your next genereation EFIS box and was wondering whether you have any dates of when you will be able to deliver the equipment to the OEM and what features will be included.

I expect that I will be getting my roadable aircraft in about 14 months. I would like to be able to order the EFIS with synthetic vision, GPS moving map with the ability to install and fly a flight plan, and your two axis autopilot that will hold a heading from a heading bug, track both the GPS and/or the VOR signal from the radio (not together naturally ;)) and have a simple altitude hold. Does or will the EFIS show the glideslope from the ILS if tuned on the radio?

I couldn't find a way to  ask these questions directly, therefore I am using the forum. I hope that I am not a pest.

TIA

Paul,
We very much expect to be selling the next generation stuff within 14 months. The autopilot will do everything that you have asked for, even in the current generation of products.

That being said, what you are talking about buying is an aircraft that is built by a manufacturer under LSA rules. This means the manufacturer has to approve of all equipment that goes into the plane. Only they can tell you what they will be signing off on. We work with Terrafugia a fair bit, but we can't tell you what their plans are, or which of Dynon's products will be going in the plane.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

You have stated that the autopilot will be available, but what about the PFD/MFD? Will it have the ability for GPS moving map, Flight Planning and Autopilot interface. When I know that the functions will be available, then I can start to "lobby" the Terrafugia Team. If I don't know what is/will be available, I can only make a wish list.

Thanks again,
Paul

We don't know when it will be available either. What we showed at Oshkosh was a preview, and we don't even have a name or price for it yet. At this point we are not quoting any kind of delivery date besides "2009".

The autopilot will exist in our current product in about 1-2 months. It will eventually exist in the next product as well, but probably not on the day it first ships.
