Wind direction and speed?

I have a Garmin 296 tied into my Dynon 10A and I have the external compass. Tell me if I am right, if I add the OAT probe I will get wind direction and wind speed on my Dynon.

Can the 10' leads be extended? I don't think they will be long enough?

If it's a type 2 probe (last 18 months or so), yes, you can extend it. If it's a type 1, then you cannot.
