How are they derived on the Skyview system?

Are they subject to any calibration?

The #s I'm seeing seem a bit off compared to forecasts.

It's GPS ground speed and direction compared against TAS and magnetic heading. The GPS stuff is going to be solid. But, if your mag cal or TAS aren't correct, the wind arrow won't be either. TAS can be affected by pitot/static placement that isn't yielding a great IAS (this is common in homebuilts).
