Last year, after many attempts with two laptops, one with XP the other with Vista and two different USB to serial adaptors, i was able to update my system (D 100, D180, AP 74 and servos) to 5.1.1 release using Windows Vista and Prolific adapter.
Now i tried to update to 5.2 (just to solve some problems with compass and AP) many times with 3 laptops, one of them with XP and the other with Windows 7 always using Prolific adapter.
My first step was to verify the connection by a simple “find firmware number”, but the screen became yellow and no way to exit unless cutting electric supply and internal battery.
Shall i directly load the new software skipping previous steps?
Something wrong in USB to serial drivers?
