Wire Harness

I was "pinning out" my harness from Dynon yesterday for a D-100.  All is well except one wire.  There is a short white/black strip that is about 6" long coming out of the DB connector that's not connected to a pin.  I'm assuming that it's the connected to the sheild on the bundle going to the EDC.  Is that correct?

Also, the wires going to the GTX-327 have an RX and a ground in a bundle.  The manual for the GTX says to hook the RS-232 to one of the power grounding pins on it's harness.  Should I assume that all the RS-232 grounds are to be at the same potential as the power grounds, and therefore okay to hook to the panel grounding block?

Thanks

Paul

You are correct to on the white/black shield wire. Most people don't connect it and it's fine.

If the 327 and the Dynon are in the same airplane and share the same battery, you probably don't need to hook any specific RS-232 ground up anywhere. Again, it's hardly ever done and we don't ever hear of problems.
