I'm trying to help out with a panel wiring project that has gone astray.
We have an EFIS-D10A only with a Garmin GNS430W gps and GTX327 transponder.

Should I connect D10A serial encoder transmit pin 13 directly to either of the GTX327 RS232 inputs (pins 2,19) and leave the D10A serial encoder ground pin 21 unconnected?
Is there any reason someone would run the D10A serial encoder output pin 13 to one of the GNS430W RS232 inputs?

We will use the female DB9 connector for both the PC connection and the RS232 input from the GNS430W. Can I connect any of the GNS430W RS232 outputs (pins 56,58,41,54) to the D10A RS232 serial input pin 22? I don't need to worry about connecting the D10A serial ground pin 9 to the GNS430W ground, correct?

First, the ground wire isn't a strict requirement, but helps ensure that the serial TX from the EFIS has a solid ground reference.

I think there are a few ways you can go here:

I believe that the GTX327 has a serial output that can retransmit pressure altitude to the 430.

Alternatively, you can split the serial transmit from the Dynon EFIS and send it to both the 327 and the 430.

Also, you may be able to run the serial from the Dynonto the 430 only, and then use a serial tx from it to send both altitude and other information (like auto ALT mode toggling) to the 327.

I'm not certain of these configurations, though - you'll need to pour through your Garmin manuals a bit to confirm.
