The wiring harness has two inputs for power to the SkyView. On the DB37 connector there's pin 1 and 20 for positive and pin 21 and 22 for ground. My two questions: 1) Are the two sets electrically connected so that if only one set is used for power input I could use the other to for instance power ac GPS? 2) In what instances would you want to connect two power inputs to the SkyView?

If you'd read the SV install manual page 4-7 para heading Power Input noone would have to reply to a question that dodn't need to be asked ;)

You need to use both inputs. There are two pins for each because one D-Sub pin can't handle the current that SkyView needs. Other products like a Garmin 430 do the same thing.

Also, each SkyView comes with a wiring harness, and these are already wired together for you in the harness, so really you don't need to think about it.
