Xdr 261 causing servo fail?

I have been trying to troubleshoot my pitch servo offline dilemma. I have it narrowed down to the transponder causing the pitch servo to drop offline from the skyview network. With the cb pulled for the xdr, the pitch servo remains online. Is anyone else experiencing this? The transponders ted monopole antenna ironically is very close to the pitch servo and I’m considering shielding or wrapping the pitch servos cable with foil to shield from RF energy from the xdr antenna.

Additionally, I am getting an audible bleed over my headset from the xdr when in altitude mode. Each transmission of the antenna can be heard as a click noise over the headset. Would anyone have input on this? : :D

Thanks in advance!

Move the transponder antenna - fairly obvious ;)
There is no reason why you can’t move it forward, make a 6” square ground plane & sikaflex it to the top of the brakes/rudder pedal support ribs or at least in that area.
PM me if you want more info.

Little late in getting back here, but I had the same problem. Pitch servo going offline and noise through my radio. I moved my transponder antenna and it fixed both problems.

We do see this occasionally. You will definitely need to relocate the transponder antenna, shielding the servo will be less than ideal. You just need to get it away from those 250 watts.
