I've discussed my problem with Dynon tech, but perhaps also a forum visitor could chime in too. My Zaon PRCS XRX was wired professionally and worked fine with my Skyview 700 for almost a year. But in the last couple of months I get the caution message saying Zaon not connected. While trouble shooting via system setup buttons 7&8 we noted that Serial Port 1 AND serial Port 2 both detect Zaon input, and a red "traffic"  is included in both the ports'  info (indicating a conflict). How can both ports "see" the Zaon? How to "disconnect" from  port 2? Zaon itself is set properly to "Garmin".  I've never touched any wiring or connections since installation. Any ideas? thanks.

So you have to actively set the serial ports that way.

When something is talking to a serial port, the rx counter on the serial port setup page for that port will increment continuously. When the format is the one expected, then the "good sentences" one rolls up as well. You can go to both serial ports and then see which one (if either) come and go when you turn the zaon on and off.

Turning the serial port off is as simple as using the joystick, higlighting the "serial in device", and choosing "none" for that port.

However, if it worked, and it simply stopped, and NOTHING AT ALL has changed, then most likely there's a wiring problem somewhere between the SkyView and the Zaon.
