Does the Dynon ADSB unit also broadcast wifi to a separate tablet? Today I have a Raspberry PI Stratux that look like it has gone belly up. I like having traffic on my separate tablet, since I only have 1 10"Skyview HDX.

The ADS-B module does not transmit a Wi-Fi signal, but if you install a Dynon Wi-Fi adapter to one of the USB ports on the back of the HDX, it will send all ADS-B data to your tablet. Note that if you have multiple HDX units, an adapter is required to be installed on each one.

Thanks, I did see in the documentation that it will do as you wrote. My Skyview already puts out wifi with a little usb dongle, am I correct that some how they are different?

The old adapters/dongles were white and the latest versions are black - either should work ok. If they’re “putting out wifi” you should be able to connect your tablet to that signal and be receiving ADS-B data from the HDX. Are you saying when you’re connected to that Wi-Fi signal that you’re not receiving ADS-B information?

I also have a Stratux, which is usually rock solid. I purchased the black dongle with the antenna for my HDX system as a backup, but have found the Certified Dynon HDX to be an unreliable source of ADSB and GPS to my Ipad with Forflight (or GP) over wifi. Often the traffic and GPS just randomly disconnect mid flight. 2 days ago I was flying near the SEATAC Bravo airspace and the GPS stopped updating to the ipad, even though I could see traffic. People say that you should put an extender on the dongle and move it closer to the ipad, but my ipad is panel mounted and only 2 feet away from the HDX at most.

All that to say, you milage may vary.
