CHT/EGT connectors crimping ?

Probably a stupid question but I wanted to make sure I use the right tools.

For crimping the pink connectors provided with the EGT/CHT Wire Harness, 6 Cylinder, 6' long,, do you use a standard terminal crimping connector crimping tool like SAT-030 from steinair red dot size as in the image or do you need another specific crimping tool for this ?

Yep, the RED dot is the one you’d use.
I usually bin the ‘pink’ connectors as they are troublesome at best.
I always buy the TE/AMP brand of crimp connectors for use at the other end of the harness.
( I also ’line up’ the probe wire ends, CHT/EGT 1 & 3, 2 & 4 so that it easy to swap them if you need to troubleshoot a suspected probe/wiring issue in the future.
Btw, a ‘hint‘ for working the thermocouple cables, this next step is easier to do before installing the harness.
Remove the back shell.
Remove the heatshrink at the D37 connector end.
Work out the routing of harness & bend the loose wires, near the connector, ( including bending them towards the center) Why = those are relatively stiff wires & carefully individually bending them means less stress resulting less chance of wires retracting back out of the connector.
To prove a point - try bending the harness close to the connector while watching the pins BEFORE you do the above - you’ll see that the pins WILL move in and out &, worse case, they can ‘unlock’ - Stress relieving, ie as above, so that the harness does not need a lot of movement to remove/ install at the EMS end is the main objective.
ps - fwiw, I also spray the pins on the connector end & same to the connectors at the probes end (before doing the crimping) nothing to lose & everything to gain. HTH

Great tip on the harness. Mine is not bend very sharply but I will nevertheless try the tip you mentioned.

What do you spray on the pins ? (very little experience on electrical wiring side, sorry for my ignorance)

Sorry, forgot to add it - just use an electrical contact cleaner spray
No need to wipe off the excess, it’ll evaporate away.

I also would rather use the TE/Amp PIDG style terminals. Also, use the right crimpers. The expensive version is the AMP 59170 type crimper (used on Ebay). But, I believe the Steinair SAT-030 dies in their crimper frame works just fine and costs a lot less.

59170 seems indeed a little out of budget for a simple builder. I saw prices over 4K $
I have the sat-030 already for a while and happy with it. did all my other ring and spade terminals with it.
Just wasn't sure these dynon connectors used the same. Thank you both for having that confirmed.
