I put an EarthX 900 in my RV14A. I want to monitor temperature near it to make sure temps never exceed max desired. Anybody know how to get this information from a Type K universal thermocouple to my EMS220?

The EarthX battery BMS already monitors the temperature and will provide a light output that can be connected to your Skyview display. But if you must have an actual temperature i believe someone made a sensor that you connected to the battery post. Not sure if it was a type K, J, or RTD type.

According to EarthX, the lead from the battery monitors voltage not temperature. When battery drops to 12.5v it sends a signal that will light an led if connected. I would like to monitor temperature to make sure the battery stays healthy. Below 140F is the goal. Some builders install a blast tube, others don’t and report temps within range, but I’m going belt and suspenders.

In addition to the EGT/CHT inputs, there are two other general purpose thermocouple inputs on the EMS220. Of course if you have a 4 cyl engine, there would be plenty of thermocouple inputs to choose from as well.

The BMS monitors Voltage, Temp and cell balancing. You can even purchase this decal from Earth-X
