Exactly ! I just did this research last week, 5 different companies , 5 FSDO's, and one company hasn't missed a beat.:mad: My local Garmin guy told me a few days ago garmin is really frustrated with new approvals taking up to 3 months now, and he was serious. Our government is so broken.

I completely believe the FAA has become corrupt and only catering to one company. I’d hate to own or run a company that relied on the approval from our modern government. The rules and standards are not even across the board.

Woohoo ! HOPEFULLY, This is the beginning of progress towards realistic timeframes regarding the FAA.

The HDX is showing spikes up to 3500 rpm in flight after some 20 minutes or so. After flight I was going to turn off one of the rpm inputs in an effort to determine which side was causing the spiking, and that when i realized one mag is failing. Never had a mag check issue, but I never thought...

I had to look, I didn't see any model Mooney on the AML for the 3100. I also do not believe HDX will output any attitude info.

..This is exactly my feelings. I am ready to invest into this if it something that can be done. I'm in for anything we can do as a type specific groups to go about this whole thing differently. I'm a nuts, bolts, and wires guy. I don't see what is so complicated about installing and proving...

Well said ! Its extremely frustrating that there's little anyone can do proactively that I can see.

Even BK thought they had a slam dunk approval of the Aerocruz for the Mooney, it too has made it to someones desk to age, and go no where fast. Our government approval process is broken, unless your Garmin. I'd pay Garmin autopilot prices at this point for Dynon's autopilot system.

Mooney.. The Mooney lineup is what needs the attention. :p No really, there's no reason several airframes cant be going at a time. It is mind boggling to me that the faa (assuming) makes certification of a safety enhancing device so hard to get.
