I was trying to give credit where it was due, regardless of how little was deserved. My point was that operating and installing are two different things. The OP was operating his system just fine but came here to ask about troubleshooting to which you and yours gave him nearly zero...

dude, I quoted the manual and you didn't answer my question, let's stop living in the past.

nobody's arguing that but this thread was a question about a loose wire from an owner that seems to not have been the builder. in six type ratings I've never had to read avionics installation manuals so I don't hold the OP responsible for not knowing where the tach wires originate or terminate...

it's come up in the forum I currently host; do we try to get official factory support or keep ourselves at arm's distance? I generally keep us at a slight distance so our membership knows we're not an official line of communication with the factory. If I were discussing this with Dynon I'd...

I ended up here because the atmosphere in the Facebook group is toxic but I found the same thing here! If you're tired of answering the same questions over and over, stop being a d!ck to new people. @Robert came here to ask about his tachometer, if he didn't build his plane then it's months...

if all you got was RTFM from my post then I understand better how social media might not be for you. you guys create an environment where new people don't want to waste their time here then bitch how you have to answer the same questions over and over again. do you see the problem you've...

@Robert I see you joined years ago but haven't been posting that much. I'm new, bought a plane with a Skyview Classic system and I've been burning the candle on both ends ripping out the electrical system to redo it from scratch and to get the Dynon stuff repaired, rewired and updated to have...

    Adding EGT Probes

again, you didn't recognize the detail that I was missing, that the unmarked brown wires had different color conductors inside of them and all appeared to be the same. N144SH recognized the detail I was missing and explained it.

smh, you don't get it, I quoted the manual in my post, obviously I had already been reading the relevant sections of the manual but didn't get what I needed from them. Please get over yourself.

    Adding EGT Probes

As someone who currently hosts a friendly aviation themed forums site and who formerly hosted for-profit forums sites, I know that new members sometimes get ahead of themselves and ask questions that others find too basic or repetitive and therefore annoying. These posts help new members to...

    Adding EGT Probes

Some people have to let everyone know how big they are. He has no idea who I am or what my experience level is. I asked a simple question in preparation for work I have to do to the plane I bought after having already completed a lot of other stuff. And it is just bad social media behavior...

    Adding EGT Probes

When you shop for sensor extension wire, there is the brown type K thermocouple extension wire compatible with a Dynon EGT sensor and there are wires for other sensors that don't appear to come in a brown insulator. Maybe they do but the photos don't show it that way. It appeared to me that...

    Adding EGT Probes

The harness sold by Dynon, and confirmed by Dynon tech support, uses the brown wire for both types of sensors. I was surprised to learn this but if they vouch for it then I'll give it a try before I worry about it.

    Adding EGT Probes

Response from Dyson Support via email was, try not to cut the braided lengths of sensor wire, their harnesses use the brown wire for CHT and EGT, any high quality connector is fine

    Adding EGT Probes

Can the wires on a stock CHT or EGT probe be shortened? I found this in the manual, "It is recommended to not cut the “armored” portion of the cable near the sensor end of the CHT or EGT sensors." but does this mean that they can't be shortened at all or to just not cut them so short that you...

    Panel Planning Help Request

I like the third layout with the comm panel vertical so it's oriented differently from the two autopilot modules. My panel was cut at a waterjet shop including the holes for the nutplates. I'd recommend nutplates for the three small modules as the design leaves no room behind them for a socket...
