    Customization PDF

The Skyview Engine page is can be highly customized. The PDF not so much. I can understand that deviating from a standard format might be disorienting to pilots. However, the tape style gauges on a glass panel are distinctly different than the standard six pack. You can find lots of discussion...

    Possible widget flicker

You can hand code them to fit better. I squeezed the EGT/CHT widget to fit my pitch trim beside it. I also fattened up the bars. I think the first params is the width of the bars and the second params is the space between. You can experiment to get better effects...

    D-180 Tachometer rapid fluctuation

Ray. I have a brother that keeps his plane in KGVL. I landed KRBW a couple years ago. I'll look you up next time I'm down there. I'm in contact with E-Mag on this one. I added "rpm_policy=SINGLE" and graphed the results. I also switched the harnesses. The problem seems to be the right mag as...

    fuel levels read high

The capacitive sensor in my Glasair is a single tube. Pitch affects the reading. I ended up calibrating a few times (for different reasons), but on the last calibration I used the Skyview attitude indicator to level the airplane in cruise attitude before I calibrated. That way the gauge was...

    D-180 Tachometer rapid fluctuation

An update. I reconnected the right P-Mag RPM pulse that I had disconnected. I reset the timing on the two P-Mags. All the MAP sensors have a common manifold along with the P-Mags and the fuel pressure regulator. There are two gauges. The Skyview EMS gauge and the SDS EFII gauge. They agree and...

Thanks Jake. I just finished checking and none are connected to gnd. Will gnd one of them.

    D-180 Tachometer rapid fluctuation

A quick question. The EMS-220 has several grounds. Some are used for three wire sensors. Do any of them specifically need to be grounded to the common ground or is that taken care of with the network harness?

    D-180 Tachometer rapid fluctuation

Thanks Kurt. I have a couple of other squawks that point to a ground problem - all happening randomly. So your suggestion adds to the evidence that it might be a grounding problem. I'll dig a little deeper.

    D-180 Tachometer rapid fluctuation

Coincidental but I wonder if it has the same solution. I tried shutting off one of the P-Mags with the P-Lead but I forgot the pulse line from the P-Mags still outputs a signal regardless. They are both to the same breaker so I can't turn one off. Even if I could, the P-Mag generates it's own...

    D-180 Tachometer rapid fluctuation

I have the same problem with my P-Mags that just showed up in since Oshkosh 2018. Nothing has changed in the wiring since I installed Skyview and P-Mags about 600 hours ago. The EMS pins 34-35 are wired to pin 6 of the P-Mags. https://photos.app.goo.gl/45CXG6E6fnzMdPTR6

    Autopilot Disconnect Switch PN

The AP disconnect button needs to be a momentary switch like the push to talk button. If it's staying on when you press it, it'll think it's stuck.

Tweaking AP Settings for a Lancair 235

In anything but smooth air the AP pitch in my Glasair II flies by the altitude forty or fifty feet in both directions. What works for me is just what you said. I apply a little pressure on the stick when it tries to fly by the altitude. Once I have the oscillations checked it holds altitude...

Dimming the Garmin components nestled in the Dynon

I used the Dynon SV-KNOB-DIMMER and connected my GTX335 and GTR200 to it along with the Dynon Skyview. I had to adjust the dim values of each component but my whole panel now dims using the SV-KNOB-DIMMER. Check this thread: dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1495144064

    Red fuel cube on Rotax

    1. for fuel flow calibration look in the install manual page 7-78. 2. I believe range is how far you can go on the remaining fuel at the current ground speed. Turn into or with the wind and watch the range change. It's only as accurate as the fuel flow as it's based on how much fuel Skyview...

    Re: Audible Obstacle Alerts

I like the audio warnings. It lets me keep my eyes outside the plane. Having said that, the obstacle warning would have to be easy to shut off. I can see it would be distracting flying the Hudson. I shut off the audio terrain warning from my GPS when I'm flying in the mountains.

    Waypoint Map Error

This seems like a bug either in the PockFMS database or Skyview translation of the database. Is there plans to fix the problem?

Do I have an AP Pitch tuning problem

I had a some trouble with my pitch servo. Mostly in rough air. I did a couple of things at the suggestion of Jake. The first was to add pitch trim and better align the servo with the bell crank. I was using a spacer on the servo arm to align it but that put too much stress on the bearings in the...

    Waypoint Map Error

Figured it out. The seaplane bases are showing up as no hard surface airports (circles) on the PocketFMS database. On the screenshot below CJT7, CKF5 and CKE6 are all seaplane airports and only have water runways. I suppose you could say they are not hard surface airports but really should have...
