    Data recording problems

I've got a D180 updated with latest firmware. Has been fine in all other aspects but the data files seem to be consistently corrupted. This is first time I've used the data retrieval files for ten years or so so I admit I have probably done something wrong. When downloading saved data using...

    Sky view backward compatibility.

I have a 10 year old D180 Flite Dek in my Jabiru and have decided it's time to do a complete renovation and bring my dash up to the latest. I'm curious to know which bits I can or should keep and what needs to be replaced. I have a D180, AP74, external Dynon magnetometer, 2 Dynon autopilot...

    NAVSRC LOST

I have started getting the same problem  with a previously functioning well Version 5.4. Same scenario - loss of nav source but instantly returns by pressing the nav button on the AP74. I also have had two episodes of sudden  roll (1 each way) so far only while in nav mode. My loss of nav...

    Fuel flow issue

I have had similar problems with mine over they years. It seems to be a common problem among other dynonavionics users in my area. basically most of us have stopped bothering to look at the fuel flow gauge. Mine commonly reads high (by about 8 liters/hour) especially after climb or changes of...

Autopilot not working on nav or track mode

Finally got a chance to look at the Garmin 296 settings and it's fixed. The settings were set for NMEA in/out Rate Normal Found a menu for Advanced settings - went into that Cant recall what it said but didn't change anything. Just backed out of that. Changed all settings to none. Lost...

Autopilot not working on nav or track mode

I'll recheck the output setup and take a screen shot so we are all sure of what is there. I hardly ever use the HSI page so I am not sure of what should be there.

Autopilot not working on nav or track mode

OK So this makes the problem even more difficult to nut out. Tried multiple times over the last week with same result.  My AP is working on heading and track mode. Though it is hunting a bit more than before on both modes. The Dynon 180 has a HSI on the HSI page with valid (magenta coloured)...

Autopilot not working on nav or track mode

Some further changes today. I lost my GPS contact with the D180. No GPS data to to the HSI page as well as no winds data in the information block on the main screen. Landed and checked the wiring joins. Nothing obvious but pulled them apart and reconnected them. Got the GPS data back to the...

Autopilot not working on nav or track mode

Flying now, (the joys of an iPad) AP74 will lock on with heading mode and track mode but doesn't light up or turn on on nav. The gps data is in as a route and the HSI page shows the right track and distance to the next waypoint so I can only assume it's getting all the info. Jaba-who

Autopilot not working on nav or track mode

Had an interesting problem occur today. My AP74 seems to not be getting GPS associated data from the D180. It previously worked well. My D180 gets data from my garmin 296 which is displayed on the 1/3 page with HSI etc so I know the link from the GPS to the D180 seems to be OK. And the AP74...

    Ammeter fluctuation at high RPM

I can echo Jake's experience on this topic and advise you check all your connections. I have a D 180 and a Jabiru 3300 and was getting similar fluctuations in my readings.  (It may have been my thread you guys can remember as I posted it and Jake gave me the clue to solving it) I finally...

Reliability of Red Cube Fluel Flow sensor

I had to change my firewall forward fuel lines in the Jabiru (2 yearly requirement) and have now run into the same problem I had way back when I was first flying the aircraft - namely the old fuel flow sensor reading way-high in the climb-out and when in some attitudes. I came to the...

    AP74 not recognized

Yep, went as far as pulling the plug apart to check nothing had come adrift inside the plug. All looks ok. I guess I should just double check the continuity by plugging it into a dummy socket just to be sure about the contacts in the plug itself. If that's ok I'll put it in a box and mail it back.

    AP74 Failure

Scott, How did you go with your problem? What was the problem? My system sounds like it is the same as yours (but in a Jabiru) and I had what sounds like the same problem in the last couple of days. I have pulled my AP74 out and am about to organize sending it back to the factory for looking...

    AP74 not recognized

Had a problem arise a couple of days ago. After an hour or so of flight I got a hum in my Headsets then intermittent crackling. I noticed the lights on the AP74 blinking in time with the crackling. When I landed I opened the panel and jiggled all the connections. None were overtly disconnected...

    aux ammeter install

I have been tossing up installing the same extra alternator system as described. And yes I would run them at same time. I have added more gadgets into my jabiru and need it to drive them all. The Jabiru alternator is only an 18 amp alternator and it only outputs that much at fairly high revs...

Unable to conclude satisfactory AP test JABIRU 430

Re: Unable to conclude satisfactory AP test JABIRU While Jake is possibly right - as a generalization - don't get too despondent. I have installed an AP in my Jab 430 (and while I am having some problems of a different sort ) the same problem you described happened to me but seems to be solved...

Broken disconnect Button wire - warning coming on.

Re: Broken disconnect Button wire - warning coming No, sadly I have RG 58 (I think is the terminology.) But RG 400 is in the pipeline as yet another attempted fix for the radio noise. Gradually working through fixes though none of the multitude of advised and suggested fixes from anybody for...

Broken disconnect Button wire - warning coming on.

Re: Broken disconnect Button wire - warning coming And now to complicate matters! Due to our prolonged wet season I finally got to fly the new installation yesterday and found another problem. When I activate the AP the dynon oil temp reading immediately goes to about 138 degrees (C) and...

Broken disconnect Button wire - warning coming on.

Re: Broken disconnect Button wire - warning coming I have managed to dramatically damp the noise by putting yet another ferrite clamshell on the loom going to the pitch servo. Funny thing is that the usual advice given about ferrite beads is "Put it as close to the instrument etc as possible"...
