The GP temp is designed to use an OAT probe, which won't reach the temps you might encounter. Coolant temp - as you surmise - is probably the closest in range. But there isn't a way to rename it, unfortunately.

If you have the latest software and the latest engine sensor definition file, you can hook up the CO Guardians that have an analog output (the Sport does, for example) to any of the four enhanced GP input. On those inputs, select pressure for type, and then you'll see it on the list.

We've seen behavior like this once here ourselves, but rebooting the ipad seemed to cure it forever, and then we haven't seen that happen since. Any chance the iPad hasn't been rebooted in a while (I know mine can go between software updates without getting restarted)

Do you know what the voltage of the square wave is supposed to be? Given that it once worked and now it doesn't, it sounds like the Dynon unit isn't seeing a clean signal from the ignition anymore.

It depends. What are your settings for all of the colors? What is the indication actually measuring in your installation? Usually, you have one color for off or malfunction, and another for on/working. It sounds like you may have more than two colors set up?

Not to discourage the conversation, but the things you're chasing here - IP addresses and ethernet - are red herrings. The ethernet cable is ONLY used to transfer aviation/obstacle databases between displays. It doesn't have any bearing on other real-time display communications like information...

We're working on a new scheme for twin-engine support which will include the ability to combine twin-engine information onto one display (with the current scheme, you need two displays, and each engine gets routed to one uniquely). It's an upcoming feature, but isn't available yet.

How long of SkyView display on time since the event? If not too long, the diagnostic file might have things we can see to help figure out what's going on here.

Possibly. Did you happen to get any alerts relative to the ARINC module? The user alerts log might have helpful info here.

That does look like a serial port oriented issue, but the fact that it happened on a second SV display points more towards some kind of connectivity problem. We don't know of any heat-related issues that cause serial comm issues (even if the equipment is hot). I'd start by looking at the wiring...

Hmm, nothing obvious is immediately coming to mind here. Those are on different connectors, and also have pretty different means of measurement. I'd definitely start with looking at grounding and wiring.

There isn't a formal periodic recommended interval. Unlike mechanical magnetic direction indicators, there aren't physical parts that can wear out due to friction, change in the internal permanent magnets, etc. The calibration will not change over time unless there is an electronic or software...
