Compass Calibration: Looking for Alternate Method

Yep, a rough ground calibration (just the four cardinal points and it really doesn't matter that a truck past by within 400m). Get in the air, fly a bunch of figure of eights and at different bank angles. Get it into the green and keep going for a bit longer to see if it'll got to 110 or...

    TRAFFIC ANOMOLY ON SKYVIEW

I know you said you’ve checked your registration but have you also checked your HEX code is the same in your ADSB as your transponder?

    AP Track Mode

I think your main problem is you haven't got a navigation source. Press the Source button and select SkyView. For more info on Direct To:

    AP Track Mode

In the flight plan menu have activated the leg to go from A to B? I don't think you have, or else you would get the course deviation bar in the HSI. At the moment all you have is a compass and no source for the HSI mode to work in. Look at the screenshot below. Top left are the A/P modes. I'm...

You need the Expert mode for NAV.

    SkyView Transponder Update

Thank you for your reply. We've managed to find the source of a transponder snag that we thought might have been the update but, turns out, it was a wiring mistake and nothing to do with new software. Transponder working just fine with the new software :)

    SkyView Transponder Update

@Blimpguy Hi David, Is it possible to revert an update if a previous version showed the transponder as working properly but the new version shows the transponder as not present? Thank you.

    Activate aux com on HDX

Have you actually got a separate Trig radio or do you have the 'Dynon' radio, which is a Dynon head and a Trig remote body? If you have a separate Trig radio, what model do you have.

Shielded or twisted wire for yaw and pitch servos and where to ground the servos

Dynon servo kit does not have shielded cables.

    AP Track Mode

No, you have to point towards your route in HDG or TRK (I suggest something like a 40 degree cut) and then when you're close to the route e.g. 1-2 nm, then press NAV.

    AP Track Mode

You need to select NAV to follow a flight plan. It will sequence through the waypoints. In the flight plan you can activate the leg and the lateral position will show up on the HSI. If you're not on the route, use HDG or TRK to intercept the route and, as the needle begins to centre on the HSI...

    Audible beep when accelerating

I would in the first instance, as that will cancel one potential source of the continued beeping. It only takes a few stalls to get it done, so is an easy thing to take care of.

    Have you calibrated your AoA?

    Servos Offline

I think I've written this before but, just in case....... My autopilot worked perfectly for over a year and then I started to get warnings that my pitch servo was offline and it was. I chased the electrics and discovered no snags. Deep in the depths of my addled memory I recalled someone...

    172M Panel Upgrade

Very neat and well organised. You must be very pleased :)

Hum in headset after wrapping panel

Is the vinyl wrap preventing the panel grounding to the airframe? Perhaps the bare aluminium was grounded to the airframe but, now it's not, you're getting some strange loops. I would stick with only having the instruments grounded through their wires and not through the panel as well.

Hum in headset after wrapping panel

I’m no expert but I would certainly try isolating your equipment from the panel, as it sounds like you’re getting a ground loop by having multiple grounds to the same bits of kit. Just use the ground wires that you’ve installed and not the panel as well. All my stuff is mounted in a carbon...

Altitude gain while using level button

VS 0 is exactly that, not Alt Hold. If you have a VS of 0 plugged in but hit mountain wave (for instance) you're going up (or down). The A/P may well stick the nose down to try and maintain a VS of 0 but you'll still go up. With Alt Hold the A/P will adjust your altitude and descend to the...

    Audio Panel

I think I'd have the intercom in horizontal format where the USB dongle is and put your 2nd radio where the intercom currently sits.

    Audio Panel

The Trig TY91 is tiny and it is only the head that is installed in the panel, with the radio itself being remotely installed. If you're after a rectangular radio then how about the PS Engineering PAR200B. Again, remotely mounted (Trig) radio, so no depth to the panel 'controller'.
