SkyView Battery Charging before first flight.

It isn't mentioned in the Pilot's Guide, however.

SkyView Battery Charging before first flight.

This is an excellent point!  I too have ground power provisions and charged the SV battery completely prior to first flight with the new cockpit. Come to think of it, I did a rundown battery test prior to that first flight...which necessitated charging it back up.  I think a small clarification...

    GTR 200 Serial Interface Support

I know you guys are busy and awesome...but if you could add something to your feature request list, I'd appreciate it! Specific support for the GTR 200.  Currently, SV decodes and displays info from the GTR and can tune it, but SV doesn't transmit the appropriate data to the GTR in order for it...

    New SA program causing errors?

Just a follow up from my earlier post about forcing SA to download all current plates to the USB drive: I was able to force a complete update of plates by doing the following: [list bull-blackball]In the SA ChartData manager, go to Options>Advanced>Open the download folder on this PC; Delete...

Additional modules needed for each Skyview unit?

SkyView's architecture is extremely flexible, and almost everything can either be shared or duplicated to fit your mission and comfort level.  There are arguments in both directions, but it sounds to me like you'd be just fine with a single SV-ADAHRS-200, SV-GPS-250, and SV-EMS-220. That said...

    New SA program causing errors?

Yeah, that's my problem too...it's not like this particular program has a stellar history of reliability, either. Thanks for the reply! This might warrant a call to SA to sort out (or at least petition for change).

    New SA program causing errors?

ChartData Manager v5.0.8.0508 here (the new one), with an odd problem--just wondering if anyone has seen this: Updating both the computer and flash drive completes successfully, with green indicator balls all around (and current expiration dates displayed). However, a significant number of the...

    GRT Hall-Effect Configuration

I also have a draft sensor config for the CS-02, based on numbers I got from a phone call to GRT.  I haven't calibrated it against a known source, but so far the amp readings have made sense. This is for a +1A offset (necessary for my installation), but you can change that by messing...

    Likewise--especially PIREPs!

Fluctuating TAS, Density altitude while flying

Which airspeed fluctuates - IAS or TAS? If TAS...did you notice any fluctuations with your OAT? I suggest something is up with your OAT probe or wiring...which (as far as I know) is the only common link between DA and TAS.

    Heated Pitot SB

Sorry to dredge this up again - Do you guys know if the replacement will work with an existing heater control box, or will it require replacing the whole shebang? I'm trying to determine how temporarily to mount the controller... Thanks!

GTN series ARINC-429 - ADAHRS data?

Seriously cool. Thanks for the response; have a great weekend!

GTN series ARINC-429 - ADAHRS data?

It looks like GTN navigators can auto sequence altitude-based and heading-based legs, if they receive heading, airspeed, and altitude data through the ARINC interface.  Reference GTN 6xx/7xx AML STC installation manual rev. 4, sections 2.4.2.2 and 2.4.2.3. Does SkyView support this?  Thanks for...

    Dual A/P disconnect switches

Hello! Dual 10" SV, pitch and roll servos. I'd like to have two Disengage/CWS switches--one on each stick, pilot and copilot. Has this been done?  What's the best way?  I'd like to preserve broken line detection if at all possible.  Would it work to wire the pitch servo's yellow lead to the...

Voltmeter Inputs (D37-1 and D37-2) - hot ok?

I have two independent electrical systems, and would like to monitor battery voltages directly off of the positive terminals.  Will any harm come to the EMS if it there is power on those two pins, but the rest of SkyView is shut down?  Also, will there be any current draw in that...

    Ammeter Questions

Thanks! Of course, I somehow missed the whole, detailed, and obvious section in the Dynon manual.  Sorry about that!  Here's a direct link in case anyone else is looking for it. I'll search better next time, I promise.

    Ammeter Questions

Hello again - I have two independent electrical systems: VP-X on one side, and circuit breakers on the other--each with its own alternator. I would like to have an ammeter on each alternator, with identical "AMPS" gauges on the Engine page of SV. Here's what I'm wondering: Can SV display the...

Dual Buss, EMS volts and Lightspeed questions

Answering support forum posts on a Saturday morning between holidays--you guys are incredible! That's excellent news about the power distribution of SV.  Pretty slick system. Airplanes have also been flying for a very long time with multiple independent buses.  Only airplanes that can continue...

Dual Buss, EMS volts and Lightspeed questions

Hi Don - Similar bus setup here, due to electronic fuel injection. My concern (should be yours too) is that the SkyView network isn't just data, it's also power.  If there is no crossover protection internally, you may find your buses bridged through SkyView...which will probably result in...
