You could pre empt the configuration change by manually using the hat switch as I don’t think there is a simple way of doing it automatically . Just a manual ‘blip’ of trim should be sufficient .
Swapping probes is a good cheap test however the 'fault' is most likely with the probe to harness connection. try this simple check - spray the connectors to the probes & then re crimp the connectors.
Ps - if you have the pink supplied connectors then cut them off & throw them out (I always do...
Give me strength -it's hard enough to get some Dynon owner/users to read the manuals, much less chance of an A&P doing that- that would mean they'd have to go to the dark side 🤣🤣
Ok, I’ll bite ;)
IMO the answer is NO, & there probably never will be as there are too many possible combinations that would result in a huge number of pages added to the install manual - surely we don’t want that. Sometimes we have to work this out ourselves or phone a friend.
Be careful what...
One possibility is too much ‘handling’ of the antenna cable out of the base of the antenna caused your issues - I have seen this before , rarely, & posted about that recently.
my solution - cut the cable (the weight of it can cause stress where it’s potted into the antenna) off about 1ft from...
There was recent discussion on this, a simple search would have found more info for you.
The greatest pain, IMO, is some people ask for a resolution of their issues however don’t give feedback which could or would be of tremendous help to others.
Was having problems 'posting' - trying again.
I'd suggest moving the Transponder antenna, it's too close IMO, to another location & use RG400 Coax cable if not using it already. All bets are off if using the old RG58. A ground plane of ~6" square will work.
PM me if you wish.
Ps -trying to...
"Turning the transponder on gets the pitch offline message within seconds". - that's a major clue IMO.
Maybe some other basic info would help ?
Airfame type ie Aluminum , fabric or composite ?
Txpndr antenna - above or below the servo ? a picture of that area may be real useful here.
I figured you would have the RG400 - my point was to say that there can be other less obvious reasons why we have problems with avionics/ electrics. Mechanical problems usually can easily be seen & then fixed - electronics are a different animal, you can’t see where those pesky electron...
Charly - here are a couple of ‘out there’ situations I’ve seen with Transponders. I’m not a ‘licensed‘ tech however i find that helps as I wasn’t trained to think in one direction😅 ;).
1st - composite aircraft, Txpdr would drop out sometimes & the range was reduced ( on a route that the...
I take it that you have checked the Txpdr & serial port settings & the pins & sockets? Did the gentle pull test for those too to confirm they are properly seated/ locked in place ? “ lost radar contact completely” is what prompted my input. ;)
