I have a D1000 and a d700. I have 10.0 software. After the radios have been on for a period of time e.g. 30 minutes, the D1000 goes blank with a lit screen(not black) and a large E in the upper right corner. The D700 just motors along. Solutions?

Is shielded wire required for the asdb data wires?

I found the problem . pin 7 on the transponder has a shielded wire to pin 7 of the 1000. A small strand of the shield was contacting the data wire and grounding it out. So many hours on such a little thing.

In the status line of the transponder setup routine I get a transponder not found message. I have aircraft power, pins 5 and 7 are continuous with pins 42 and 44 of the efis, ground is good, setup on serial port 3 is complete, any ideas? Servos, ems, both displays, GPS, all normal. The device...

By golly you're right. It was upside down. Problem solved.

I am installing avionics at this time and bench testing the dual screen setup both screens have the sky down and the ground up. The gps screens and ems screens seem normal. What did I do wrong?

I am getting the above error message. I am just starting the setup procedure and the servos installed correctly but had this error message. Anyone have some guidance???
