OK, how about this idea for operating the transponder with SkyView powered down? I assume that the Dynon transponder is identical to the Trig TT21/22. Correct? From the Trig install manual, it looks like if I added a Trig TC20 control head to the panel and switched several transponder pins...

I got the answer from a call to technical support and polarized glasses are a problem(thanks). I am familiar with all the arguments against and for polarized sunglasses. No point in getting into that discussion here.

I fly motor gliders so current draw is a concern when the engine is off. Is there a sleep or power down mode to the display? What happens to the transponder if power is turned off to the display? Does the transponder change mode or shut down?

I fly with polarized glasses. Many displays are slant 45 degrees which causes a problem when the head is tilted. Can anyone tell me the polarization of the 7 inch display or their experience with polarized glasses?
