Autopilot Rolls Into Turns Like A Fighter Pilot

Nope, as far as I know the only "update" that has the fix is the test one that Don sent me a few weeks back. (see above) However, it brings back an issue with tach times if you have different ignition systems.

Autopilot Rolls Into Turns Like A Fighter Pilot

Okay guys, more testing done today. The autopilot seems to be working normally again. As mentioned though by RV8JD the tach time issue could be back. I can confirm that it is back. I have reached out to Don to see about getting a fix. So, if you have different ignition types and don't want...

Autopilot Rolls Into Turns Like A Fighter Pilot

He did not say, I am curious as well. I am also curious on the tach time as I had that issue too before 16.3. I will look at the data tomorrow and see if that is fixed too. I’m hoping so as this is 16.2.7 and not 16.2.4 where I really had issues. Since I am doing instrument training right now...

Autopilot Rolls Into Turns Like A Fighter Pilot

Gents, Don reached out last week with news of engineering identifying and fixing the issue with the autopilot. I had a chance to test it today and everything seems to be back to working. I could not replicate the previous issue with either the heading/track bug or the nav feature. I only have...

Can someone help me understand when I can arm VNAV?

Thanks for the replies guys. Makes a little more sense now. I’ll do some more experimenting and midlifeflyer we will try your workaround, can’t see why that wouldn’t work. Just seems odd the thing won’t let us arm it sooner.

Can someone help me understand when I can arm VNAV?

Okay, I have read the manual and some other threads and still don't understand. I'm doing instrument training and me and my CFII don't seem to fully understand when Dynon will let me arm VNAV on the approach. It seems as though I cannot even arm it until I get the glideslope indicator on the...

    AutoPilot Settings For LPV Approach

I think you are correct on what needs changed. Only problem is I have no idea how small/large of a step should be used. I will be playing around with this as well sometime soon as mine gets a little looser than I would like toward the rwy.

    Chasing altitude

You mention your software is current so I wonder if this is yet another issue with the autopilot. Before updating my alt hold was spot on, now it does was you mention, hunts up and down like it hasn't been tuned before. I went up and tuned it again to see if I could get improvement. What's...

Autopilot Rolls Into Turns Like A Fighter Pilot

+1 on the bump. Dynon I hate to be this guy but if I'm being honest some of these known issues that have not been dealt with make me feel like existing customers are not being valued. I know that supply chain issues have really put you guys in a crunch to find substitutes so I'm really...

Anyone know when an update is coming?

I didn't have this problem with the last version. It also seems to work on this version but that may not indicate a fix for all. I will say though that since updating last time (16.2) the system hasn't done any auto detect of fuel quantity. It would appear that auto detect is still not...

Anyone know when an update is coming?

I started testing it last week guys. The tach time issue appears to be fixed. No fix for the autopilot though, would be curious if others find the same. I have not found any others bugs as of yet.

Anyone know when an update is coming?

Sooooooo any update on an update Dynon? This tach time issue is getting very frustrating... Getting close to just rolling back and staying 1-2 full cycles behind if it takes half a year to get fixes like this.

Anyone know when an update is coming?

Was the downgrade easy to do? Don gave me the option when I sent him my diagnostic files but also made it sound like he didn't recommend it (without actually saying that). I was hoping that Dynon would come out with a simple patch fix for a couple of these items without waiting on a full on...

Anyone know when an update is coming?

Anyone heard anything on an update timeline for HDX? I was told by a Dynon rep that mid February was expected. Ummmm we are well past that now. Mainly wondering because I can't keep track of my tach times; even after the Jerry rigged fix my tach times are still way off. Would also love...

    ...

Well it's certainly better but not perfect. I disconnected the tach wire on my Pmag and the TACH time is relatively normal now except at the end of the flights today the tach time just suddenly drops down a little bit. Don, do you need the diagnostic file on this one? Just want you to be...

Anyone look at their TACH times after the update?

Thanks for the link, I tried to see if this has been asked before; don't know how I missed that title! haha

Anyone look at their TACH times after the update?

It would appear I have possibly found another bug in the new update. Anyone else see TACH times doing anything like this? Here is the before. Here is after the update. Finally, had a chance to get the diagnostic file downloaded, will send to Dynon soon. I'll keep you guys updated but...

Autopilot Rolls Into Turns Like A Fighter Pilot

Keep us posted here, I have the exact same symptoms after updating a few days ago. Your fighter pilot analogy is spot on! Haha I even get roll slip on my setup. Don I’ll send you the setting requested on the other thread but can’t get to it for a week or so.
