Hi, I was flying today and an intermittent fault developed where the primary flight instruments and artificial horizon were lost. The area was black with a red cross through it. The message “ADAHRS fail” came up.

A few months ago, the compass suddenly went 30 deg out. It had to be recalibrated. The battery is not strong and drops to 9 V when starting the engine. 400 hrs and five years old Skyview Classic. Software updated six months ago. Not sure if rained on overnight recently. In an Aeroprakt A22LS fuel injected.

Any thoughts about how to troubleshoot? Should I clean connectors? Replace the battery with a lithium one that delivers 14 V? Many thanks!

Contact support@dynonavionics.com re the ADAHRS unit.
Rain (water) - unless it is impacting the equipment it is not an element in the failure.
Aircraft battery down to 9v when starting - have a battery load test done first & if good then check other things like main grounds ( I
like to start troubleshooting with the simple, read cheap, solutions first).
Do you have a SV-BAT-320 battery connected ? If not, then it’s strongly recommended by Dynon.
