I powered up my new installation for the first time last night. This is a replacement of a D700 with a 1000T and the replacement of Garmin XP,Com and PM3000 intercom with all Dynon components and the addition of ADSB-out. The D1000T, COM C25 and GPS2020 seem to be up and configured properly.
I wired the 261 to serial 1 and the 470 to serial 2. Have double and triple check the wiring. Both show TX counts and the light blinks on the 470 (no lights on the 261).
However, in set-up both the 261 and 470 show up as "No Found".

What have I missed?

Thanks
Bob

Bob,
The 470 and 261 are not network devices, so they will not show up in NETWORK CONFIGURATION. All debugging is done in the serial port setup page.

If you're getting "good sentences" in the respective pages, everything is working.

I'm not getting good sentences except on the GPS2020. Even after you set them up in the serial port section something else has to recognize they are there. When I go to the setup section for the individual pieces of equipment (261 and 470) the screen shows "no found".

Perhaps my logic is wrong. I purchased a custom harness from Aircraft Spruce to connect all the Dynon modules to the D1000. The connections for the 261 and 470 have the serial wires labeled "serial RX" and "serial TX". These labels are at the ends of the wires near the remote devices. I assumed the RX wire should go to the RX pin and the TX to the TX pin. Could someone actually mean that the RX goes to the TX and visa versa? Does anyone know if sitting in my garage these two devices should show TX or RX counts? They both show Transmit counts going each time I power up, with the xponder showing group errors and the 470 not showing any errors. It made sense to me that they would be transmitting (even if the Skyview does not "see" them). And that they would only show receiving if I were in the air where they could acquire an incoming signal. If my assumption is correct then the wires are connected correctly.

Bob:

Did you connect the SV-XPNDR-261 and the SV-ADSB-470's serial ports to BOTH the SV-D1000T and the SV-D700? If not, that's required.

The other frequent cause for angst on wiring serial devices is the mistake of wiring the TX of the device to the TX of the SkyView display. Correct connections are TX -> RX and RX -> TX.
