500 ft Warning

I've got a skyview1000 and after updating to version 15, I'm getting a 500 ft annunciation when descending. I looked through the installation and operating manuals and can't find anything about it. I found one thing in the setup, I think terrain warning and shut it off. I'm still getting the 500 ft warning. Where is it? How do I shut it off?

Richard, it's all to do with the Altitude bug - set it to zero if you don't want the warnings, I find the Alt bug to be a neat useful feature. ;)

I use the altitude bug all the time. Usually set for 4000 or higher. I don't think that is it. When reaching altitude she says, "approaching altitude". Here she is saying 500 ft no matter what the altitude bug is on???

I'm not remembering an audio alert that calls our 500 feet, but I can be wrong. Do you have any other things with audio out connected? A portable GPS perhaps?

Do you have a Garmin AERA? I have a Garmin AERA wired to the audio panel and it gives a 500ft warning. The voice is so similar to the SkyView voice it is almost impossible to tell where the warning came from.

I too am getting that warning while on final. I like it. Only have a GTN hooked up.

I saw this on Foreflight the other day while acting as a safety pilot shooting approaches. A flag pops up top center of the screen. Probably audio as well but my iPad not connected in that plane. I think it is a new Foreflight feature. My Dynons do not do this (Skyview ver 14).

No other GPS's. I do have Foreflight running and connected up to sound.
The 500ft warning is a new feature on Foreflight. You can read about it on their blog:

"The 500’ AGL Alert triggers when you descend below 500’ AGL. To prevent the alert from repeating it is only shown if you have previously been above 1,000’ AGL."

Yea that is what it was. Turned it off. Amazing how similar the voices sound in the cockpit. Can't tell if it's Foreflight or Skyview!

Thanks guys.
