Lost a 7" screen yesterday. Went black but backlight stayed on, CB popped. I'm guessing the power supply in the screen is toast. I have another screen in another airplane; can I swap it in? How much of the config will have to be changed? IS there a way to download config files onto a USB and Reload onto the swapped screen?

You should be able to swap. Make sure your working screen is on first, then turn on the replaced one and it should take the config from the first.

If you have a 10 and a 7, things specific to the new 7 may need to be reconfigured, I’m not sure.

Also make sure to back up your config settings or you may have a bad day.

You can't export config without a powered on screen, so that really depends on what may still have power internally. I wouldn't get my hopes up.

What you may have to change depends entirely on the differences between aircraft, and what you may have customized.

Yeah, that.

If that was your only screen and you don’t have your settings backed up, that is bad news. You will have to start your config only.

There IS a way to recover it if it’s just the display that’s bad, but it’s likely more than that. (And Dynon most definitely won’t want you to do what I would suggest for settings recovery)

If you have multiple displays do what I said above.
