A/P switched from NAV to TRK

I have a GNS-430W talking to the SV1000T via ARINC 429 box. Has been working fine since day 1, with *occasional* (like once every 6 months) brief (as in a second or two) loss of nav info on the EFIS (although the GNS-430W chugged right along with no issue).

Today, about 50 minutes into a cross-country flight, 430W driving the EFIS displays (HSI and map), and the A/P tracking the NAV fine...approaching a waypoint, suddenly the A/P announced a mode change...it switched to TRK mode, and I *though* I saw one of those very brief outages of data from the ARINC box, but can't be sure.

Anybody else seen this? I went to change modes back to NAV, and for a few seconds the NAV option was unavailable, then it came back, and all was good the rest of the flight....

I also have a Garmin 430W and will occasionally see the loss of data from the 430W for a brief second. I have seen this with pre-version 15, but not on version 15 yet. I just upgraded this week. But since the latest version of 14.xx. I still see the blinking out of data but not the A/P change state.
On a long cross country flight last month I saw the GPS data blink out for less than a second two time in a 45 min. period. I believe Dynon is still working this issue.

Steve,

Yes, it has happened to me also for years. More often than for you though. Once every 15 hours or so.

Similar setup, except classic Skyview versus touch.

I also have complete loss of comm with the ARINC box, occasionally, in precipitation. Have to completely reboot Skyview to get it back. 430W keeps chugging along.

For those of you that have seen it recently, it would be great to see a diagnostic data log, along with the approx date/time that you saw the event. Instructions for submission can be found here: www.dynon.aero/reportlog. Do include a link back to this thread too in the message area of the form.

I'll grab one when I'm at the hanger later this week, but not sure if it occurred too early in the flight to still be in there. Is the diagnostic log still ~1 hr's worth of data?

1hr of really dense stuff, but there are many things that go back quite a bit longer. For something like this, we may have history of events even if it were some hours ago. I don't have a legend of how it all breaks down though, so getting the log asap is a good first step.
