Until a few hours ago my brand new Skyview was working perfectly. Now suddenly I can't access the map functions. Even when the map is displayed there is no MAP soft key on the main menu. Please help.

Not yet, but the unit is not flying yet and I get 30 flight hours free. It actually says 30 hours remaining.

The map its self works and I have the hi res Europe terrain installed fine. I just cannot access the MAP menu because it no longer appears on the soft key in the main menu.

The map menu requires an Aviation database to be installed. If all you have is terrain, you don't get the map features, so there's no menu since there are no points to navigate to or get information about.

You can actually delete the databases from SkyView from the "installed databases" page, so maybe you did this.

You can put on the USA database from our website if you are in the USA or purchase one from Jeppesen or PocketFMS if you are in the rest of the world.

If you don't have an aviation database installed, you won't see the map menu. Additionally, if you don't have the MAP Page displayed, you won't be able to get into the Map menu either.

OK I solved it. I had deleted all way points and not yet installed the pocket FMS aviation data (which is a paid subscription so I won't do that till ready to fly). I re installed the US aviation database, created one user way point at my house, then deleted the US database again.

Anyway, I completed my learning objective for today which was to work out how to create a flight plan in pocket FMS, export it as a .GPX and upload it to Skyview.
