I’m looking for any pictures of the installed pitch/yaw/trim servo installation in an A36 or BE58 with a Dynon autopilot that retained the King trim servo.

There appears to be interference between the brackets required for the trim and Dynon pitch/yaw assembly.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

As per the Dynon STC:

The SV-AP-TRIMAMP Trim Motor Adapter is currently only approved for use with existing Edo-Aire 1C469-6-662 electric pitch trim motors installed in accordance with STC SA3205SW-D in Beechcraft Bonanza A36 airplane...

Unfortunately, I don't see a legal way around that.

Where are you finding that information? I have found zero reference in the Dynon documentation about this.

Dynon REALLY needs to fix this. They NEED their own trim solution. This is crippling installations in 99% of Beech an I’m sure many other models.

It is annoying, for sure. I've attached some screen shots from Beechcraft forums and Dynons STC. My hangar neighbour had the same issue. Ended up installing a used Century (Edo-Aire) trim motor.....

I think that restriction is removed. That first screenshot is from an older installation manual. The latest version (Rev P) does not limit aircraft type or trim motor type. It merely refers to any approved aircraft on the AML.

There's also this:

"Trim control features including Autopilot Auto-Trim require the installation of the SV-AP-TRIMAMP and SV-AP-PANEL. The aircraft must also have an electric trim system installed via original equipment, an existing STC, or other certification means. The SkyView STC is not grounds for installation of a trim motor.

This feature is currently available on Cessna 182, Beech 35 series, Beech 36 series, Beech Baron 58 series, and Piper Seneca aircraft with Dynon Autopilot installed."

I'd contact Dynon to be sure.

That is the newest Dynon manual for Beech 36 aircraft....but things can change quick.

Absolutely ask Dynon. But I'm 99% sure that restriction is still in use on the A36.
I probably should have been more specific that the restriction in the manual has been removed. It still should be confirmed elsewhere.

Interesting, revision K is the one listed on the AML for all certified aircraft, but the “newest” is P, which specifically changed the autotrim note to refer you to the AML, which just says “optional”

This leaves one with an autopilot like a KFC### in quite a quandary: the trim and autopilot are installed under one STC, and you can’t normally “split” an STC; it’s all or nothing, so if you remove the AP you have to remove the trim.

Not sure how many serviceable EDO-Aire servos are out there, not to mention the bracketry, etc.

Dynon really needs to fix this if they want to be competitive.
