Is there any thought or provision for separating the magnetometer from the ADAHRS so that the magnetometer can go in a magnetically cleaner location like the wing and the ADAHRS could then go anywhere on the roll axis?
Yes, we have made provisions for this, but are hoping to avoid doing it, as it will increase the system cost to the customer. But that is something that we may do.
I am also interested in this option, since I am building a Sportsman which has a steel cage within the fuselage. Results with magnetometers of other systems in the vicinity of the cage have been mixed. Most folks end up putting them in the wings.
If you have a beta tester for this aircraft I would be interested in hearing a report on the success of the single ADHARS/magnetometer.
