I am still building but nearly done on my glasair 2. I came out yesterday and turned on all avionics with the engine off. The boot sequence failed and after 10 min wait. I restarted it. it then came up with an adahrs fail. after another 3 min. adahrs came up. after reviewing settings for about 10 min. I restarted the skyview and all avionics. the boot froze again. I restarted and it came up but the adahrs never did. I have been though this schenario 4 or 5 times. Wait until this morning and tried again. same results... boot failure about 50% and not adahrs. I have uploaded files.

It sounds like something is definitely wrong in your SkyView system.

Please contact our Technical Support staff directly at 425-402-0433, or by E-mailing Support@DynonAvionics.com.

They will asist in further troubleshooting, possibly including gathering a data log from your system. And they can then advise on how to proceed with getting the problem component repaired.

I called Dynon Support and talked with Mike. In troubleshooting, the problem seemed to go away. leaving me with 2 suspect options. 1- perhaps a poor connection to the adahrs in the cable that I put together, The problem actually disappeared when I placed tools near the adahrs getting ready to take off the inspection panel. I will rework the cable.
2- It could be related to the system 5 error message.. Mike shared that the system 5 error is related to the SD drive in the Skyview and it could be causing the failed boot and or reboots.

If you're seeing a System Event 5 message, you WILL be getting intermittent bootup. Since you're located in the same area as Dynon Avionics, suggest you arrange for an RMA to get it repaired. If memory serves, this issue is being repaired under warranty whatever the age of the SkyView unit (but confirm that with them when you arrange for the RMA). Don't just assume this will go away - it's a HARDWARE issue INSIDE the SkyView display, not wiring, not software, etc.
