Adding D100 to D180

I purchased a Zenith 601XL that has a single D180 installed. I have purchased a used D100 to add to the right side of the panel. Where can I find documentation to guide me on how to connect the two? Is it difficult to do so?

Just connect as per D100 install manual & configure the DSAB - should be good to go, I've done the same in reverse order.

Jake,

Thanks for your response. I guess I should have told "the rest of the story". I am actually adding to the airplane all at the same time (in no particular order)
- Pitch and roll servos to add the autopilot capability to the system
- AP74 control head
- D100 EFIS

The D180 will be the master. Am I correct that I can wire both servos, the AP74, and the D100 to the same blue and green wires (pins 4 and 5) that run to the Dsub 25 pin connector that then goes into the vertical 25 pin connector on the back of the D180? Does it matter in what order they are wired before the harness reached the back of the D180?

One other question. Should I connect pitot static lines to the back of the D100 if I already have them connected to the D180?

Obviously from the wording of my questions you can tell that I am definitely not an avionics guy. This is all new to me. I am doing the physical install of the components, but I am then having a friend who is very experienced in wiring aircraft to help me with the wiring. I just want to understand just what it is that we are accomplishing, rather than to just stand there and watch him without understanding the logic of the connection. I hope that my questions make sense and thanks for the help.

Semper Fi,

Terry Hand

Terry,
The order of connections doesn’t matter, just join green to green & blue to blue. Just make sure you Do a dsab Configure & all the components are ’seen’.
Pitot/StaticAOA connections to both screens ? I would consider it as it will give you redundancy if 1 of the screens fail.
If going IFR I’d go 1 step further & have a #2 pitot for the same reason.
Your questions do make sense to me 😉
