ADS-B/TIS traffic -> 430/530?

I don't know that this would be at all useful, given that the SV displays traffic on a much nicer display, but just out of curiosity...

Does the SV communicate data *back* to a 430W/530W, such as traffic info, via the ARINC box? Could the Garmin thus display SV XPDR or ADS-B-communicated traffic info?

What about other parameters?

Or is the ARINC box one-way only, 430W->SV?

The ARINC box already sends lots of data to the 430, like heading, IAS, OAT, OBS, etc. So it's not one way.

I'm not sure if the 430 can take traffic over ARINC. Other devices take traffic over serial, and we do support that output already. One issue is that lots of the data the 430 takes is proprietary and not documented.

I guess I should have figured out the OBS, etc. part...duh...I'd be interested in knowing what all is being communicated back and forth. Is there an ICD somewhere that describes this?

Labels transmitted:

In order to know exactly what the ARINC labels do and are, you'd need to buy the ARINC definition document.
