Without the Dynon Xpndr, will I get any traffic at all?

What is the icon that looks like a small sun on the lower right with an up-arrow that says "fail"?

Do you have 5.0 on your system yet?

If you have 5.0 this should not be possible. If you are pre-5.0, then this means you are not logged in to the TIS traffic system, or your other traffic system on board has failed. If you do not have a traffic system on board, this means you have configured a serial port to be a traffic device you do not have.

ADS-B will get some traffic without the transponder, but not much. Mostly airliners.

Yes, 5.0 is installed, after all the ADS-B box is working well, I get weather, tfrs (well it got one tfr). I'll check the serial ports.

I do have TIS traffic on the Garmin 530 from the Garmin 330 XPNDR.

Any other ideas?

AND.....serial port 4 on the SV is connected to RS-232 out from the XPNDR 330. Can that provide TIS traffic on the SV?

Yes, if you have the GTX330 hooked up and configured on a serial port (note that it calls itself a traffic device in that setup menu), you should get TIS traffic on the map when in range of a TIS service volume. In the setup menu, is the "good sentences" field incrementing?

After checking, neither SV display has anything on its serial ports except the ADS-B box. No traffic device. 5.0 is running. SO what is that gold circle with an up arrow that says "fail"??
