Can the Dynon transponder accept the Garmin ADSB+ data?

Can the D6 or SV1000 accept the Garmin ADSB+ data?

The transponder accepts ADS-B format but not ADS-B+.

The SkyView and D6 do not accept either ADS-B format. They use NMEA or Aviation format data.

Garmin is not a real nice player in this corner of the market- the ADS-B and ADS-B+ formats are proprietary with no documentation, so they must be reverse engineered. Garmin has not publicly stated what the difference between ADS-B and ADS-B+ formats are, so there's no obvious reason to use ADS-B+ over ADS-B.

What are you trying to do with this data in our various systems? All the Garmin devices that can output ADS-B data have at least 4 serial ports so you can get Aviation out at the same time.

I had several lines bussed to the one 430 out port because the 430 will only allow one port to be designated as Aviation out. I put the transponder on its own rs232 out line and switched the 430 port to ADSB and the transponder recognizes that.

This is the exact way I have my SkyView Transponder and G430W connected. With the proper configuration and software versions it is 2020 compliant. After you have it set up and flying, request a detailed ADS-B system report by sending an e-mail to: 9-AWA-AFS-300-ADSB-AvionicsCheck@faa.gov. Make sure you provide your aircraft tail number. This reply will tell you what ADS-B data the FAA is receiving/processing from you and if you are compliant or not.
