Advanced Aircraft Electronics L-2 transponder antenna?

Anyone tried this with a Skyview Classic? Building a composite SeaRey and it would fit nicely in the nose by the transponder.

You need to be more specific. An EFIS (Skyview) doesn't use antennas. Do you mean radios, transponder, ELT??? I understand these are pretty good antennas for composite aircraft because the ground plane is built into the antenna itself. Should work well in a fabric aircraft too if you keep it away from the metal structure. But this would be a terrible choice for a metal aircraft.

Apologies, should have been more specific. It's for the 261 transponder.

Here is the answer from the Mothership:

As long as the antenna is optimized for 1090 MHz and compatible with mode S level 1 transponders, it should work.

I used that exact antenna in my fiberglass KIS4. One for the XPNDR-261 and one for the ADSB-470 IN module. They are superb and am glad I used them.
