Hey gang, sent for a report to check ads-b for confition inspection and the says it's on the no services list. News to me. xndr261 and gps250. I know the transponder firmware needed updating when I bought the plane last year and that fixed ads-b on the Dynon, and I can see myself in flight aware. But I wonder if the last owner who never fixed it got banned for bad data from not doing the upgrade?

How do I fix this. I know the info send you straight to an @ faa dot gov email but before I go and shoot myself in the face with the feds does anyone have any insight? Dealt with this before? In the hangar tomrrow and can gather data but everything on the dynon / transponder / gps / ads-b screens is good to go. On the report my aircraft hexidecimal code matches the n- number database so that's okay too.

thanks in advance

The FAA has initiated the filtering capability described in this document for aircraft transmitting non-compliant codes. For other aircraft, the FAA intends when possible to provide individual notice to owners/operators prior to utilizing the filter. This notification would describe the reason for applying the filter and steps that must be taken before an aircraft may be removed from the filter. If an aircraft owner/operator does not respond to an FAA notice of finding regarding an ADS-B avionics issue, FAA at its option may subject that aircraft to the filter without further notice.
Owners and operators can identify the ICAO address filtering status of their aircraft by requesting a Public ADS-B Performance Report (PAPR) at the following web address: https://adsbperformance.faa.gov/PAPRRequest.aspx. Owners and operators whose aircraft are affected by application of the ICAO address filter must contact the FAA Flight Standards Service ADS-B Focus Team at adsbfocusteam@faa.gov for guidance on corrective actions and coordination for removal of aircraft from the ICAO address filter.

Here is a link to the full document from the FAA for more information:

The GPS250 antenna is not ADSB-compliant, if you are using the Dynon source for the transponder ADSB-out data. You will need to upgrade to the GPS-2020 antenna from Dynon and load the latest software.

The GPS250 does not comply with Ads-B standards. You need to replace it with the GPS 2020.

By the way, neither the GPS250 nor the GPS2020 are just antennas. They are both full GPS units.

True, the 250 doesn't comply, but if it gets on the no services list, having the 2020 installed won't fix it. It has to be removed from the list and have the 2020. The refresh was in regards to the software update.

Just saw the software update - downloading it and I'll give it a wing!

So once you are "in jail" with the no-services list, just correcting the problem won't automatically get you off the list, you have to contact them for removal?

Correct, you won't be removed from the list until you fix the problem and ask to be removed.

Ordered a GPS 2020 from all y'all. Emailed them about getting off the naughty list.

What's the difference between the GPS250 and the 2020? Both are waas enabled GPS's. but the 2020 is compliant?

Anyone want a GPS250 working when removed? cheap!

From the FAQs:
What is the difference between the SV-GPS-250 and the SV-GPS-2020?

Both are WAAS GPS receivers that update position at 4-5Hz. The SV-GPS-250's design utilizes high volume commercial GPS components that yield a lower price point ($200). However, this design does not have the documented design data and integrity checking necessary to prove it meets the FAA's 2020 performance requirements. The SV-GPS-2020 has the design data demonstrating that it meets the FAR performance requirements, but because of the additional design assurance, it costs a bit more ($590).
