On my friend's SkyView System the airspace is not visible. I receive the message: Expired databases! Indeed the aviation and obstacle databases are outdated (Europe), but i expect them to be visible anyway. Is this a feature? or is there a configuration to activate them even if the databases are outdated?

The aviation and obstacle databases will continue to show even after they're expired. If you were very zoomed out you might not be seeing the airports/airspaces. You could also see this effect if items have been turned off via MAP MENU > MAP ITEMS.
