I set up my Skyview System. What I am missing is NAV data and airspace structure. I have loaded the EMS files and Version 4.0 to the screen. Am I missing some files? Can see red and yellow terrain however, not flying yet.

Where in the world are you? Which file did you download to update to 4.0? Do you have a map license?

You need aviation / obstacle databases if you haven't loaded them. See http://www.dynonavionics.com/docs/support_software_SkyView_Databases.html for more information.

I am in Europe. I downloaded the High Resolution Terrain file for Europe. Probably I didn´t get the hole picture how Skyview is working.
So I need one of the three aviation/obstacle databases Jeppesen, Pocket FMS or the Base Map / Cultural Data to show the map with airspaces ?? Which one would you suggest? What will happen with the terrain data I already have on the system when I load one of these aviation data files?
And yes I have a map license, however not yet on the screen.
Would be happy to get some education here.

In terms of databases, you need the following for your region for SkyView to be fully functional:

-terrain (you downloaded this)
-base map (available from our website)
-aviation / obstacle databases (Jeppesen or Pocket FMS. Pocket FMS is a bit less expensive and has a bit better private airport information in Europe, but you can use either one)

Additionally, make sure that the firmware and the engine sensor definitions are up to date. Essentially, though, start at http://www.dynonavionics.com/docs/support_software_SkyView.html, go to the "Detailed SkyView Update Procedures", and read the whole page carefully.

Dynon Support,
thanks for the quick reply.
However I still don´t understand one thing: When I install the Pocket FMS software there is data included for roads, rivers and so on. Isn´t it also on your base map? And if so how will Skyview handle two files with possibly the same data?

Understand that I still need two more files on my system, just wondering how it works.

Roads, rivers, etc are NOT in the PocketFMS data you download from them. While their PC program does include this, this is not "PocketFMS" data, it's data they buy from another provider and thus cannot give out. The only data in a download from PocketFMS is airspace, airports, navaids, and obstacles.
