Altitude increasing constantly

I received my D10A in July and Installed last week. It works great but I noticed an increase in altitude of around 100 ft compared to my mechanical altimeter. Both are connected to the same line. After upgrading from 2.4.3 PC, during my last flight it began to increase the altitude constantly regardless of the climbing or diving situation of the plane.

When in ground I checked it and still was increasing. It reached 2000 ft although the airfield is at 49 feet as the mechanical altimeter was still showing when I switched it off. I changed to the old software but the behaviour appears to be the same. The altitude begins to grow and doesn't stops. The problem seemed to me to have appeared after the change in software but after downgrading it to the former (original) version it exhibits the same problem

Is the D10A wrong? Is there anything to do? Otherwise the airspeed, OAT, EDC-10 (magnetometer) etc appear to work OK and I'm very happy with the system.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help

Hi Juan,

Just to ensure that there is no pressure that is being applied externally, try disconnecting the static line at the back of the EFIS. If you are still seeing the same behavior, you'll need to send your unit in for warranty work.

If the altitude reading no longer exhibits this behavior after you've disconnected the static line, then the problem is external to the unit and you may have something wrong with the plumbing connection between the "T" and the EFIS connection.

Let us know what you find.

OK, I'll try that during this weekend, and come back with the results.

Thanks for the quick answer.

I have disconnected the static line from the D10A and it still shows the same behaviour, altitude increases slowly but constantly. I have disconnected all the plumbing (pitot + static) allways with the same result. Finally I have dismounted the unit from the panel and packed in its original packing in order to send it to you, i f you deem this necessary.

Please let me know the next steps or any other possible action.

Best regards

Hi Juan,

It looks like that unit will need to come back here for a look under warranty. Check your email for return instructions.
