Has anyone had any luck with any Android App (Samsung tablet) that will connect and display traffic and weather from the SV?
I am currently using the NAVIATOR app but I am unable to get any traffic or weather via wi-fi connection. I have e-mailed Naviator a couple times and they have never replied back. It looks like they are done with making any improvements to this software.

FWIW: I have dual DYNON 7" screens with WIFI modules on each screen. My SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab S2 tablet (Android) connects quickly to my SkyView WIFI. However, FltPlanGo will only display weather (no traffic) if I use the >EXTERNAL >ADS-B DEVICES >CUSTOM UNIT with port 4000. FltPlanGo knows about this "bug". I was told that it only affects Android units and that they are working with DYNON to correct it.

I have a Nexus 7 and display SV traffic via the wifi using Avare (with Avare I/O). Haven't tried to display weather. Avare is free any very capable.

+1 on problems with fltplan go. Nexus gets wifi fine but fltplan go won't connect to Dynon at all.

I run Fltplan GO on a Nexus 9. No problem connecting at all. It's a great app.  I leave the traffic and weather on my SV so haven't even tried that capability on FPG.

I'm exploring Avare and haven't been able to get either traffic or weather displayed. What port did you you use with Avare I/O to connect to WiFi. I've tried the default of 43211 and 4000 but neither seemed to work. Did you have to do anything else to get it to work?

Also, re. transferring flight plans to/from Avare. I usually do my flight planning with SkyVector. I haven't found an easy way to transfer those flight plans to Avare. I also haven't seen a way to transfer flight plans from Avare to SkyView. How are those using Avare getting FPs into & out of Avare?

I too have been using Avare this summer on my Samsung Tab-A 10".  It really works good for me for backup navigation.  It can be very helpful to have the sectional right at your fingertips instead of relying on the SkyView alone.  Weather and traffic are great on the SkyView but having these on Avare too would be a real bonus.  I have had no luck getting it to receive anything over wi-fi from SkyView.

Some of our guys use Avare here for various testing. Port 4000 is correct, and then traffic and weather should "just work". Flight plan transfer isn't something that is supported by Avare though. With the currently released version of software, (15.3.4), if there is an iOS device running ForeFlight that is running and is connected to SkyView, traffic output to other apps like Avare will be inhibited. This quirk will be addressed in the next version - 15.4.

Yeah, I figured that out. FltPlan GO makes that transfer so easy I'm partial to that. No ADS-B traffic & weather currently :( but in the works ... :)

Using port 4000 with FltplanGo, weather works but not traffic.
This is the response I received when I asked about this last week" "At this time, FltPlan Go for Android connectivity to Dynon is only for GPS positioning and flight plan transfer. We plan to add the option to display ADS-B data from the Dynon unit in the near future."

I updated my FltplanGo app (yes, I should have done it a while back) and on my last flight I had WX and traffic from Skyview using EXTERNAL >ADS-B DEVICES >CUSTOM UNIT with port 4000. The only issue was that my tail number kept popping up as a traffic alert. Gotta figure how to get around this "glitch".

;)

I was finally able to get Avare to receive weather and traffic from SkyView over WI-FI on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A.  Port 4000 worked.  Nothing on the radar in the local area so I don't know what that would have looked like.
