Antenna separation

Sky view install manual gives conflicting info on spacing between com and transponder antennas. Page 16-16 (com install) says minimum 1 foot and page 11-12 (transponder install) says minimum 3 feet. Building rv3 so hard to get a lot of separation. Which one is really correct?

They aren't really in conflict, although I do see the confusion:

Our specific COM needs a foot from a transponder antenna.

Our specific transponder needs 3 feet from the COM.

So you need 3 feet if using Dynon's COM and Transponder.

If you had just our COM and a different transponder, and the transponder said 1 foot, then you could do 1 foot. We don't want to say 3 feet with our COM just to match our transponder. Treat the install requirements for the COM and Transponder like they are from two different companies that don't know about what you are installing.

Ok I get it, I am using Dynon com and transponder so I will work on getting 3 feet of separation.
