I have the Dynon AOA pitot tube installed, connected, and calibrated. I am receiving audio alerts from other items such as approaching altitude and autopilot disconnect.

I have the AOA set to come on at the mid yellow point, but I have not been able to generate an audio alert so far during stall testing. The airplane is a Van's RV-9A.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had a symptom where the AOA tones stopped working after many months of working normally.

I was puzzled, but then noticed that the AOA icon was not visible either.

I did an in-flight cAL and all returned to normal. Never did understand why the CAL was lost.

Does the visual AOA indication behave correctly? Ie, can you get to the spot where your AOA is supposed to start with the indicator? Also, if you have an HS34 or AP74, the settings under SETUP > HSI > AUDIO influence where the audio comes from (EFIS means the physical EFIS output, EXT means the HS34 or AP74).

The visual AOA indication is correct, and moves up when pitching up to increase the angle of attack.  I go completely into the stall without ever hearing the tone.

I do not have either a HS34 or AP74.

I double checked tonight that both SkyView displays are outputting audio.  I have heard the tone now during audio output setup by moving the cursor to the AOA audio setting and then back in the menu.  This was the first time I have heard a tone during setup.

I will fly again tomorrow morning and test it again. Thanks.

Good News. I heard the tones today during slow flight practice!

I am not sure why, but maybe I needed to go into both displays and touch those menu positions, for audio output for AOA to cause it to work.

I am still above the stall, when it starts to go off at the mid yellow point. It progresses up from there, and I do not stall until I get into the red zone. This is great to have now! :D

Just checked again today. Made sure both screens are showing audio on. Not working.

I also can't hear G warning in the air.

Test sounds on all works well.

Anything, anyone..

Update:
The system worked well today. The only thing I changed was the order in which the displays were turned on.
Usually I have the back seat display on when I start the frond seat display.
Today I had the front seat display on first and all sounds worked well.
Does this mean that the back seat display takes priority if it is on first?
Does it mean that the back seat sound is not wired properly ?

Thanks

In a multi-screen setup, we recommend that you wire all of your SkyView Left audio channels together into a single left channel, and your SkyView Right audio channels together into a single right channel. Another thing to be aware of is that only one screen will generate audio at any given time. (The screens communicate to determine who the lucky winner is).

Most of you have already done this, but here are a few general things to check:

1. Your audio is wired properly as described above
2. Go into SETUP -> SYSTEM SETUP -> AUDIO SETUP and make sure your volume is up and you hear the test audio

Next, ensure:

3. AoA audio option is not set to OFF (SETUP -> SYSTEM SETUP -> AUDIO SETUP -> ANGLE OF ATTACK)
4. AoA minimum airspeed is reasonable (SETUP -> SYSTEM SETUP -> AUDIO SETUP -> INHIBIT AOA BELOW AIRSPEED)
5. Airspeed Limitations have been configured (SETUP -> PFD SETUP -> AIRSPEED LIMITATIONS)
6. AoA is showing on the PFD (SETUP -> PFD SETUP -> ANGLE OF ATTACK)
7. An AoA Calibration has been performed in flight (while in flight, SETUP -> AOA CALIBRATION)
