I have a Thorp T-18 which has a wing that has significant change in dihedral about halfway out the wing. Im thinking about locating the AOA Pitot tube in the outer section of the wing which has the different angle than the inner portion of wing. Like this but muchly exaggerated \_()_/ . My question is will the mounting on the inner portion of the outer wing section ( to get away from prop wash and fuselage airflow ) affect in any way the AOA or Pitot info?

If you mount the pitot on the part of the wing with a lot of dihedral, the AoA will respond to yaw as well as AoA. It may not be a big effect, but it will be there. The pitot part won't care.

If you can mount the mast so that it hangs straight down, instead of perpendicular to the wing, this would remove this effect. The effect comes because the AoA port is expected to be directly below the pitot port, but it won't be on a highly angled wing.
