AP hunting

My AP wanders around both the heading and altitude settings. Plus/minus 150 feet in a slow porposing manner and a slow lazy S around the selected heading. Adjusting the gain on either the roll or pitch doesn’t seem to change it much but I haven’t played with the sensitivity yet. Has anyone had the same initial effect and come up with solutions?

What software version are you running? There were some autopilot problems that were addressed with the latest update(s).

Pretty sure its 16.4 as that's what I have on my stick but will verify that I uploaded it on the HDX when I get out to the hangar again

Yup but I think I’m going to start from scratch. It’s the first time I’ve tried setting it up (new build) and entirely possible I missed something or got something out of order. Just interested in a heads up from anyone who’s done it all right but had similar issues.

With the new tuning points in 16.4 and the new procedures I suggest starting from the defaults and tuning per the procedure. after some years of mediocre AP performance, I finally got mine dialed in.
