The AP was spectacular on the very first flight. Thanks!  It is amazing how well Skyview has worked right from the start.

It would be helpful in this application to tweak the roll performance. Specifically, is there a way to have the AP command a more deliberate bank entry and exit when there is reasonable error?  My primary goal is to reduce target bearing overshoot  I did not want to adjust sensitivity as it is holding bearing (both heading and track) just fine.

First question - are you using bank or roll mode? If roll, try bank mode to see if it gets you closer to how you want it to behave. Also, if you haven't tried playing with the sensitivity, you try upping the sensitivity (you can always put it back) a bit.

The AP is set up for 3 deg/sec turn rate with a max bank angle of 45 deg.  I'll try moving it over to bank angle.

I just put 1K on the AP yesterday (first time really working with an AP) and had a chance to play with the settings a bit.  Roll tended to worry about neutral a bit at a high rate so I ended up backing down on the sensitivity from 10 to 6.  This would make sense as the servo is controlling full span ailerons and they are very sensitive.  Anyway, the change in sensitivity did not make an appreciable difference in the AP's roll out to heading.  It always overshot by three or four degrees then found its way back on the subsequent counter steer every time the change in direction was sufficient to reach the established maximum turn rate.  Small changes of a couple of degrees have the AP settling without overshoot.

Just to be clear, this is not a problem as much as it is a curiosity.  If it can be tuned out by my learning the AP then great.  If not, no worries at all.

Thank You.  Pulling hard on the stick is a blast but hand flying this plane for hours at a time is not all that much fun.

I have a RV-10, rather sensitive as well and it is at 10 with no issues. I ended up with 2.0 degrees and max 30 degree bank. I think your 45 degrees may be too much, plus do you really want it to bank so much when in that mode? my passengers think 30 degrees is too much.
Try (testing purposes only) to change max to 25 degrees, see if it still overshoots, if so than that isn't the issue, if not than go from there.

I'll give the kinder settings a try.

I'm used to being up side down so 45 degrees of bank (which it does not reach at 3 deg/sec anyway) is kinda lame :) I'd be happy as a clam if it would slap over to 45 and pull the stick all the way around the corner.......

Bank mode at 45 degrees does the trick. It is a little slow exiting a turn but that is proabably on purpose.
Thanks!
