AP turbulence mode

My airplane is very light and when flying AP in turbulence it tries to make the airplane climb or descend all the time. would be handy to have a "turbulence" mode in which altitude hold is more relaxed or only pitch/speed are enforced, and also track/heading are enforced in more relaxed mode. this is currently possible tweaking the AP settings.

Which a/p do you have and plane you fly? I have a Longe EZ and I use a Trio autopilot. It holds steady in turbulence.
But while in bad turbulence I disengage the autopilot to reduce wear and tear on the plane and autopilot.
In bad turbulence it would take a good "big bucks" autopilot to do the job.

Hi gianmarko - this is one of the known issues that we'd like to improve in all AP installations through the next software update, but that's probably at least a few months away.

I hope your not talking about 5.2 being months away?

5.2 should be out in a week or so, but it won't have any specific updates to enhance turbulence performance.
