Does anybody know how much current the AP74 draws? I have found current figures for the servos but not for the AP74.

Re: AP74 power supply location

On the note of AP74 power.
The drawing show the supply power for the AP74 coming from the avionics bus, but the power for the servos being attached to the main bus. The HS34 is powered from the main bus. Is there a reason not to power the  AP74 from the main bus?

And if it only draws 200ma, why does it get fused at 2A instead of just 1A?

Thanks,
Dave

Which pages of which manuals are you talking about (I'm not immediately finding the discrepancy)? In any case, we occasionally use the "aircraft power", "avionics bus", "main bus", and similar terms interchangeably.

A 1A fuse would work fine. The spec may be based on an older theoretical maximum current with other, non-implemented features taken into account.

Which pages of which manuals are you talking about ...
It is on the drawing on page 6-3 of the D-100 EFIS Installation Manual.
There was another post that suggested that it is best to have the HS34 power on at the same time as the EFIS and I would expect that the same would be true for the AP74.
Thanks,
Dave
